The Animation Movie - A Jewish Girl in Shanghai
The story took place around 70 years ago in Shanghai. It was a crazy world where war broke out in many places in the world.
Many Jewish people in Europe lived in terror, some of whom had to flee from Europe and seek shelter in other countries.
Rina’s family was an example. Her mother was taken away by the German, so she and her little brother fled to Shanghai as refugees.
Feeling cold and hungry in a chilly winter morning, Rina had to buy food for her and her brother. Having no money, her only choice was to stare at the pancake shop where a Chinese boy Zhou A-gen worked as assistant. A-gen saw her and offered her two pancakes for free. Their friendship began at that moment.
Knowing Rina’s story, A-gen invited her and her little brother to his home. The friendship between two Jewish children and the Chinese family grew day by day in the hard times. They fought the cruel invaders together in their own ways.
At last the war was over. Rena had to go back to Europe with her family. A-gen saw her off at the port, and they agreed to see each other again 70 years later.
